Challenges and Opportunities for the PT/MC Industry

You may already be aware of the European “Green Deal” and the “Fit for 55”-plan, ambitious projects put forward by the European Commission as a strategy for sustainable economic growth. These plans aim to transform Europe into a climate-neutral continent, resulting in a cleaner environment, more cost- effective energy, smarter transport, and new job opportunities.

Considering the impact that the Green Deal and the “Fit for 55”-plan will have on all of us, including the PT/MC sector, the EPTDA Bureau considered it useful to provide EPTDA’s members with background information and support on both these programs in this EU Monitoring edition, as well as on the ones that follow.

In reference to the interesting panel discussion during the recent EPTDA Annual Business Convention in Warsaw, in which some of our members participated on the topic of sustainability, these dedicated EU Monitoring Reports may also be an opportunity for the establishment of a proper Sustainability Working Group within the EPTDA, in which interested volunteers can map out the challenges and opportunities facing our industry with regard to this topic. If you have an interest in such an initiative and would like to volunteer your expertise on Sustainability, or if you know a colleague who could contribute in an interesting way, please do not hesitate to contact the EPTDA Bureau.

At the same time, we take this opportunity to highlight EPTDA’s Product Line Intelligence reports (PLI) that represent another exclusive EPTDA Membership benefit. These PLI report’s main purpose is fostering better understanding of markets in regard to production processes and production facilities. In respect of the Green Deal, the existing and future reports prove undoubtedly their usefulness.
